Meet Kayleigh Wiltshire, the owner of a Whitfield house type at Mandeville Park in Aylesbury, who tells us how they came to own their Bloor home.

The first time we knew we wanted to live at Mandeville Park was in July 2016, before the development was even built!

We drove past the field that showed the ‘land acquired sign’ and we said to one another, “we need to get on this”.

I remember walking past the field on our daughter’s first birthday and just praying that we would be able to afford a home here.

Fast forward to May 2017 and we were finally able to reserve the Whitfield. We like to do our research, so we found our nearest show home and drove the 90 minutes to the development to have a look around. We fell completely  in love with it, but especially the kitchen.

The kitchen and the garden are our happy places. The kitchen is the place we dance as a family and enjoy date nights. We get the disco light out, put on our music and pour a few cheeky gins.

And from our lovely kitchen, patio doors lead out onto our garden. In the summer, our garden – which we have named ‘Macynos’ (a play on our surnames and Mykonos which has our heart) – has Mediterranean vibes. The perfect summers day in our garden aka chez ‘Macynos’ would see the Ibiza chilled playlist on repeat, a mojito in one hand and the smell of Nivea sun cream wafting in the air.

To top it all off, my best friend of 24 years has recently moved onto the estate and her son and my daughter will be going to the same little school where we first met!

I often wake up and think ‘I can’t believe this is ours!’
