As well as close family, the Edwards’ have found new friends and a real sense of community at Saxon Gate in Crewe. Here, Robyn explains why they love living at the development.

My husband and I moved into our Byron on 1st July 2019. My mother, who lives on the same estate in a Studland, recommended we buy with Bloor by my mother who lives on the same estate in a Studland and now my sister is buying a Wyatt housetype here at Saxon Gate too.

Bloor was amazing throughout our buying process, always willing to go above and beyond. It really felt like they were as passionate about our move as we were! In the first few weeks after moving in, the Bloor sales team often checked in on us and if we had any snags, the builder and/or plumber was around within minutes! We certainly have no complaints at all with the moving in process. We’d definitely recommend Bloor to any buyers, I’ve already tried convincing three of my friends!

We were really lucky that Bloor included a few offers and incentives, such as an integrated Fridge/Freezer, a brick wall built in our garden and turf included.

We loved moving into a home that was a blank canvas; everything being white gave us an opportunity to put our stamp on it and make our house a home. We decided to go with bold colours in our living room and downstairs toilet, but keep the rest of the house neutral. We loved the colours of the floors throughout and the choice of tiles. There wasn’t actually anything we didn’t love!

There’s a park on our estate and our young daughter in particular loves living just a stone’s throw away. Walking through the estate makes us so proud, it’s peaceful, pretty and welcoming. There’s a community Facebook group for residents and everyone is so friendly and helpful. One of our neighbours gave our children their old bikes as they had new ones for Christmas, which is just so thoughtful and generous. Rather touchingly,  it was our daughter’s very first bike.

We have now celebrated all the seasons in our new home, from our first Summer after moving in, to Halloween, Christmas and Spring. We celebrated Easter with an Easter egg hunt around our beautiful garden and around to the front of the house. At Halloween, our community was amazing;  just about everyone decorated their houses and answered doors with treats waiting for the children. And Christmas was extra special, seeing everyone’s homes wonderfully decorated.

We’re so grateful for our double front-drive, it means our children can play safely on their scooters.  And our lovely neighbours have a daughter the same age as ours, and they both love to wander and play together between our gardens. We’re so very happy here.

Robyn is a first-time buyer and will be posting cleaning tips, as well as seeking advice on decor and general interior design ideas.
